The UNFHCC Sickle Cell Anemia Program is a comprehensive community-based organization providing services to individuals diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia disease.

The Sickle Cell Anemia Program was first organized in both Crawford and Erie counties in 1972. Mrs. Rubye Jenkins-Husband is the pioneer of the Sickle Cell program operations. Mrs. Husband has over 30 years of experience in management, community organization, staff development, genetic counseling and social work practices.

The United Neighborhood Facilities Health Care Corporation (UNFHCC) programming for WIC and Sickle Cell Anemia began in 1986. Both Sickle Cell Anemia and the Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) program are components of UNFHCC.
